Area Development Online News Desk (01/23/2012)
Amazon.com has announced it will open a new one-million-sq.-ft. fulfillment center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The $50 million investment is expected to create hundreds of full-time jobs at the facility, scheduled to be operational third quarter 2012.

Last year the Fortune 500 company opened its first South Carolina fulfillment center in Lexington County’s Saxe Gotha Industrial Park.

“South Carolina has been a great home for us," said Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon Global Customer Fulfillment. “We had a great first holiday season in Lexington County and we look forward to serving our customers from both Lexington and Spartanburg Counties by the fall.”
