New Tennessee Solar Plant

Confluence Solar Inc. has announced plans to build a $200 million solar manufacturing facility in East Tennessee. The 200,000-square-foot facility in Clinton will create 250 jobs. The 25-acre site is in an industrial park off Interstate 75.
 
Hazelwood, Mo.-based Confluence makes premium quality silicon ingots for photovoltaic solar power generation. Company officials cited Tennessee's growing role in the solar energy field for deciding on building the plant in Anderson County.
