Uncle Ray’s Invests $13 Million To Locate Manufacturing Facility In Montgomery City, Missouri
01/27/2015
The company purchased a refrigerated warehouse in Montgomery City that was vacated by Tyson Foods in 2011. The company intends to make improvements to the building to accommodate receiving raw potatoes and producing and shipping finished products.
"We are happy to close on this property in Montgomery County and we look forward to becoming part of that community,” said Bill Sansom, Chairman/CEO of Uncle Ray’s parent company, The H.T. Hackney Co. “We do a considerable amount of business in Missouri and look forward to growing our presence there. We have not determined a start time on our new facility, but now that we own the property, we will proceed with our final plans for our potato chip plant.”
To assist the company with their project, the Missouri Department of Economic Development has offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company will continue to receive as they meet strict job creation and investment criteria.
“Today’s announcement of new jobs and a significant investment by Uncle Ray’s is great news for families here in Montgomery County,” said Mike Downing, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “The State of Missouri is pleased to partner with Uncle Ray’s to help continue our economic growth and increase the number of products that proudly say ‘Made in Missouri’.”
“We are so pleased to welcome Uncle Ray’s and thank them for their investment in our community,” said Jeff Porter, Mayor of Montgomery City. “We also want to thank the Greater Montgomery County Economic Development Council for leading this exciting project on our behalf and the Missouri Department of Economic Development for their support of our community and this company.”
