Window Manufacturer's Expansion to Create Up to 175 Jobs in Ladysmith, WI

01/30/2012
Window manufacturer Weather Shield is planning on creating 125 to 175 new jobs in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, this year according to the city's mayor, Daniel Gudis.

The Medford-based company manufactures windows at its plants in Ladysmith.

The firm had laid off hundreds of workers from those Rusk County facilities in the last two years, noted a story posted on WEAU-TV's website.

Gudis said Weather Shield is "also bringing back jobs from Mosinee to Ladysmith and the screen plant that they had vacated in 2011."

The new positions will mainly be production jobs, he noted. "Door, window and screen assembly and there's some vinyl work.."

The company declined to comment on the expansion when a WEAU-TV reporter called last Friday.
