Tyson Foods says it plans to add 60 employees to the 500-person workforce at its Fayetteville, Arkansas, tortilla plant now that the $7 million expansion there is nearing completion.

The project involved the renovation of 120,000-sq.-ft. of space and the installation of new machinery, and creates two new production lines for a national foodservice client.

Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, Tyson is the world's largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef and pork. The company's customers are located throughout the U.S. and more than 100 countries. Its 15,000 employees work at over 300 facilities and offices around the globe.

Tyson produces tortillas at two other plants; one is in Sanford, North Carolina; the other, in Portland, Indiana.
