PaperWorks Industries Locates New Warehouse in Wabash, Indiana
01/08/2018
The 44,500 square foot addition to the company's existing mill will be capable of storing up to 7,000 tons of coated recycled board (CRB) rolls. The mill produces PaperWorks' recently launched MasterWorks Ultra 100 line, as well as other CRB grades.
"Over the past three years, PaperWorks has invested more than 60 million dollars to upgrade its paperboard mills and folding carton converting plants. This latest investment is designed to lower costs, improve service and reduce our environmental footprint at this location," said Andy Bolton, President & CEO.
Previously, a third-party contractor handled a significant portion of the company's Wabash mill warehouse requirements, requiring additional transport fuel, time and labor. Because the new warehouse will be adjacent to production, customers will be serviced more efficiently and the environmental footprint will be reduced.
According to company officials, MasterWorks Ultra 100 line was engineered as a cost-effective, 100% recycled alternative to virgin grades, with multiple appearance and performance benefits. In addition to whiteback, the line includes three CRB kraftback grades: Kraftback (general folding carton use), Kraftback Beverage (treated to provide tear strength for beverage applications) and Kraftback Freeze (moisture resistance for refrigerator or freezer applications).
