Enforge Expands Manufacturing Complex in Albemarle, North Carolina
10/19/2018
A subsidiary of Angstrom Automotive Group, Enforge is a supplier of safety-critical suspension, steering, structural components and assemblies for automotive industry. The company will bring a major steering linkage project involving steel forging, machining and assembly to Stanly County.
“Enforge’s decision to expand in Stanly County reinforces North Carolina as a smart location for manufacturers in the automotive industry,” said Secretary of Commerce Anthony Copeland. “North Carolinians have experienced automotive manufacturing professionals with advanced training programs available to expand skills, and they are ready to get to work.”
“By expanding its capabilities, Enforge is strengthening the automotive manufacturing pipeline in our state,” continued Secretary Copeland. “We welcome Enforge’s expansion in Stanly County and look forward to working together to keep up the success they’ve found here.”
“Enforge is excited to expand its current business in Albemarle,” said Angstrom Vice President of Finance Rajneesh Banga. “As Angstrom is experiencing significant growth, we selected Albemarle as our first preference to launch this business due to availability of stable skilled workforce and pro-business environment which North Carolina offers.”
As an incentive, a performance-based grant of $90,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Enforge expansion in North Carolina. The One N.C. Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All One NC grants require a matching grant from local governments and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.
“Enforge is adding new jobs and new capabilities to their automotive manufacturing here in Albemarle,” said N.C. Senator Tom McInnis. “This expansion will provide more opportunity and will expand Stanly County’s manufacturing presence. I’m proud to welcome this success.”
“Manufacturers have a lot to gain in Stanly County from our experienced workforce and our strong training presence,” said N.C. Representative Justin P. Burr. “I’m proud to welcome Enforge’s expansion of their automotive manufacturing here in Albemarle.”
The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. were instrumental in supporting the company’s expansion decision.
In addition to North Carolina Commerce and the Economic Partnership of North Carolina, other key partners in the project include the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, Stanly County and the City of Albemarle.
