Fujifilm Expanding Distribution Operations in South Carolina
Area Development Online News Desk (10/21/2009)
Fujifilm Manufacturing U.S.A. will expand operations in Greenwood, South Carolina, by moving its regional distribution center for photographic products to Greenwood, according to state commerce officials. The company will add up to 20 new jobs at the facility as it begins shipping color photographic paper and processing materials from the Greenwood facility, with the transition expected to be completed by February 2010. "We have carefully planned this transition and will be working closely with our customer service organization and the Greenwood distribution center staff to insure proper labeling, on-time shipping, and other customer requirements," says Shinji Kataoka, Fujifilm Manufacturing U.S.A.'s president. "We intend to make this move a seamless one for Fujifilm's customers." The expansion represents a 15 percent increase in materials handled at the Greenwood facility and is expected to reduce the company's warehousing and transportation costs.
