Germany-based Lapp Group Opens Distribution Center-Regional Office In Gwinnett County, Georgia
10/28/2013
Located at 2402 Tech Center Parkway in the Lawrenceville area, Lapp Group’s distribution facility will house sales operations and a customer training center. Lapp Group offers a range of products extending from cable, cable accessories, cable handling systems, and cable harnessing to industrial connectors and communication technology.
“Our decision to open a distribution center in Gwinnett County was a logical and easy choice. We needed a facility that was strategically located and would enable us to reach markets not only in the Southeastern United States, but the rest of North America as well. We believe this location will be ideal as we continue to expand in the future,” said Marc Mackin, President, Lapp Group North America.
“Companies from all over the world are constantly drawn to Georgia’s incomparable logistic advantages,” said Pat Wilson, COO at Georgia Department of Economic Development. “The location of the new Lapp Group facility is a testimony to our reputation of being the No. 1 state for companies to do business.”
Gwinnett County Board of Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash, stated, “Companies around the world continue to look to Gwinnett County as one of the best places to grow. Our favorable business environment, global logistics infrastructure, and educated workforce provide companies, such as Lapp Group, with the support critical to their industry and success.”
“Lapp Group’s expansion in Gwinnett represents our sixth international announcement in the past two months alone,” stated Troels Adrian, Senior Project Manager, Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett. “This is clearly a strong trend for our community and stems from our strategic location, as well as our proactive efforts to attract and retain these international companies.”
Georgia Department of Economic Development Project Manager for Foreign Direct Investment, Nico Wijnberg, assisted with this project, in collaboration with Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development.
