Online Education Provider Creating 750 Jobs in Florida

11/14/2008
Kaplan University, a provider of online education services, will open a new online student support center in Orlando, Florida, according to a company statement. The company will create up to 750 new jobs over the next four years with the project. Kaplan will open the new facility in a 124,000-square-foot existing facility in the Central Florida Research Park. "Kaplan has experienced explosive growth over the last several years, making it necessary for us to look for additional space to house our employees," says Andrew S. Rosen, Kaplan University's president. "We looked at 20 different cities and decided that the Orlando site was the best fit for the university because of its affordable cost of living and great labor pool." The Iowa-headquartered company did not release information about state or local financial incentives.
