Think Global to Locate U.S. Electric Car Plant in Indiana

11/18/2009
Think Global, a Norway-based manufacturer of electric vehicles, will locate its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Indiana, according to Reuters. The details of the deal, including the exact location, will be announced within the next few weeks, according to Charles Gassenheimer, chair and chief executive of lithium-ion battery maker Ener1, which has a 31 percent stake in Think Global. He says Think Global has applied for federal financial assistance under a program that provides funding for fuel-efficient vehicles. Think Global produces the Think City, a 100 percent electric, zero-emission car that gets up to 112 miles on a single charge.
