Deloitte Consulting Expands U.S. Technology Delivery Center In Orlando, Florida
11/18/2016
This expansion comes just two years after the company announced it would locate in Lake Mary and hire 1,000 positions. Deloitte, one of the largest professional services firms in the world, is once again seeking software development, system analyst and information technology employees.
“The Orlando area proved to be a great location for the U.S. Delivery Center,” noted Bert Naquin, Managing Director, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and Center Director. “We met our initial hiring goals in half the time we expected it would take and given the success of the center and to stay ahead of clients’ needs, we’re adding up to 850 new jobs to our Lake Mary Center. The strength of the region – including a thriving international community and well-respected educational institutions – providing access to skilled, tech savvy workers – confirms our original choice for this location and makes expansion an easy call.”
“Deloitte chose to locate and now expand in the Orlando region because of the 500,000 higher education students within a 100 mile radius,” said Crystal Sircy, Executive Vice President of the Orlando Economic Development Commission. “Orlando’s plentiful talent pool continues to be an asset for Deloitte and other companies looking to expand here.”
“Deloitte’s growth in Lake Mary is an economic development success story. Their ability to attract the right talent speaks to Lake Mary’s well respected position as a business center,” said Lake Mary Mayor David Mealor. “Deloitte’s continued growth is also a tribute to our City’s remarkable quality of life for employees and their families. We’re confident Deloitte will be able to excel here, and we stand ready to help them continue their growth trajectory,” he adds.
Seminole County, the City of Lake Mary, CareerSource Central Florida, and the Orlando Economic Development Commission partnered on this project. Deloitte is also partnering with higher education institutions by creating programs with the University of Central Florida and Seminole State College that assists students seeking careers in technology.
