Area Development Online News Desk (11/30/2009)
Market Center Management Company (MCMC), a real estate investment company, will build and operate the Nashville Medical Trade Center in Nashville, Tennessee, at an estimated cost of $250 million, according to the Tennessee governor's office. The project is expected to create approximately 2,700 new jobs. MCMC plans to construct a 12-story tower above the city's existing convention center that will house exhibit and display space for more than 600 medical equipment and biotech companies that would be permanent tenants of the facility. "We are calling the Nashville Medical Trade Center a global healthcare marketplace because we envision healthcare providers from around the world coming to the city to learn about the latest medical technology and services," says Bill Winsor, CEO of MCMC.
