Generator Manufacturer to Add Up to 460 Jobs at Its Various Wisconsin Plants

11/07/2011
Generator manufacturer Generac Holdings has announced it will create 300 to 400 jobs in Waukesha, Whitewater and Eagle, Wisconsin, as well as 50 to 60 jobs at its newly acquired Magnum Products subsidiary in Berlin. The increase in labor is needed, said the company, to help it meet increased customer demand.

Waukesha-based Generac designs and manufacturers a wide range power products, including portable, RV, residential, commercial and industrial generators.

Company spokeswoman Heather Shannon Gaedtke said all the new employees will be hired within the next year, according to a story by the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel. She added that the expansion project is not receiving public financing assistance in connection with the expansion, but rather is privately financed.

The company's sales, said Gaedtke, have "skyrocketed." On Nov. 1, Generac reported third-quarter net income of $37.4 million; for the same period in 2011, it recorded net income as $23 million.
