Cox & Company, a supplier of aerospace ice protection and temperature control systems, will invest $35 million to move its headquarters and manufacturing facility to Plainview, New York, approximately 30 miles east of its current location in New York City. Newsday reports that the company will transfer 160 jobs - 110 of them in manufacturing - to the new location, with potential for an additional 30 jobs within the next three years. The company will move into 90,000 square feet of existing space in an industrial park and will complete the move sometime this weekend. Newsday also reports that Cox & Company will receive a $500,000 grant from the state, along with reduced property tax rates and reduced electricity rates from the Long Island Power Authority contingent on job creation.
