Food Manufacturer to Open New Plant and Bring 130 Jobs to Troy, Alabama

12/13/2011
Golden Boy Foods has announced it will create 130 jobs within the next two years in Troy, Alabama, due to the opening of a new peanut butter manufacturing facility. About 65 to 75 new employees will be hired by the middle of 2012; the remainder of the new positions will be filled by the middle of 2013.

Golden Boy is a leading supplier of organic and conventional peanut and nut butters. It manufactures over 400 private-label and branded food products, and supplies 20 of the top 30 retailers in North America.

The Canadian-based company will move into the former Campbell Enterprises Building located at the Troy Industrial Park.

President and CEO Richard Harris said that in comparison with other locations the company reviewed across Alabama and Georgia, "Troy stood out as the most favorable climate for business, and the place in which we received the warmest welcome."
