Advanced Disposal Services Invests $4 Million To Locate Headquarters in St. Johns County, Florida
12/18/2012
Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., an integrated environmental services company, invested $4 million to lease 56,000 square feet as its corporate headquarters in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Both local and state incentives were packaged for a quick turnaround deal to attract 85 new corporate jobs at an average wage of $112,000.
The new headquarters in northeast Florida’s St. Johns County will be located at 90 Fort Wade Road in Ponte Vedra. With the consolidation of Interstate Waste Services and Veolia ES Solid Waste into Advanced Disposal, the company more than tripled in size in regards to staff, geographic footprint and revenues.
“The decision was not an easy one, and it ultimately came down to what was the best business decision for the company in terms of state and local financial incentives, corporate and individual income taxes, relocation expenses, negotiated office space fees and a region-wide business friendly environment,” said Charlie Appleby, chief executive officer of Advanced Disposal. “Advanced Disposal was created in Northeast Florida, and as we celebrate our twelfth anniversary, we are proud to announce that it will remain our corporate home for years to come benefitting the company and all Northeast Florida counties.”
Advanced Disposal worked in conjunction with Enterprise Florida, JAXUSA, and St. Johns County to obtain a competitive financial incentive package for the corporate headquarters location. The incentives played a significant role in the decision making process and combined with the existing, talented corporate staff living throughout Northeast Florida, secured the region as Advanced Disposal’s headquartered location, JAXUSA Partnership for Regional Economic Development said.
“Economic development is a top priority in St. Johns County. Our motto is ‘St. Johns County is Business Ready,’ and our commission fully stands behind that statement. We are delighted that Advanced Disposal has confidence in such and has decided to relocate their headquarters to St. Johns County. We look forward to assisting with their continued development of a long and prosperous business association in St. Johns County,” stated Chairman Jay Morris, Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County.
