O'Sullivan Films Investing $28.3M in Winchester, Virginia

12/02/2010
O'Sullivan Films is investing $28.3 million and creating 174 jobs in Winchester, Virginia, the Winchester Star reports. The plant, which is owned by the German Hornschuch Group, has already been approved for a $300,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund and $500,000 in Virginia Investment Partnership Program grants.

"The purchase by the Hornschuch Group of O'Sullivan is the reason we have this opportunity," said O'Sullivan Films President and CEO Denis Belzile. "This certainly will allow us to consolidate our position in the markets we're in and open up new markets."

The City Council may match the $300,000 grant with funds to improve infrastructure at the project site.

O'Sullivan produces polymer and finishing films for the construction products, consumer, healthcare, and automotive sectors. The expansion plans to increase the height of the building from 24 feet to 60 feet to permit the installation of larger equipment.
