Canadian-Based Price Industries Plans Maple Grove, Minnesota, Design Center

12/24/2013
A manufacturer of custom air conditioning, heating and ventilation products, Price Industries plans to build a new $2 million development center in Maple Grove, Minnesota, which is expected to open in 2014 and employ 40 people. In addition to housing research and development operations, the new facility will serve as the Winnipeg, Canada-based company’s U.S. headquarters.

According to Gov. Mark Dayton, “in the future, Price is considering plans to construct a U.S. factory that will generate hundreds of new jobs. This new research and development facility in Maple Grove will make Minnesota a prime contender for that project, and the jobs that will come with it.”

Gerry Price, Chairman and CEO of Price Industries, said, “Price is pleased to make this significant investment in its new development center in Minnesota, and is thankful for the assistance from the State to make this possible. Governor Dayton and his team really stepped up to the plate and demonstrated their support to grow.” The new project also is a testament to Minnesota’s highly skilled workforce.

“We are excited and proud to develop advanced, high efficiency products here in the State of Minnesota,” said Ron Hanlon, President and CEO of Price Mechanical. “We studied various locations around North America and chose Minnesota due to the availability of great engineering and technical workers, as well as a demonstrated innovative and productive workforce.”
