Commercial Laundry Company Investing Nearly $6 Million for North Carolina Expansion
Area Development Online News Desk (12/29/2009)
Maple Springs Laundry Inc., a commercial laundry serving the healthcare industry, will invest $5.9 million to open a facility in Long View, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company plans to create 68 new jobs as it sets up operations in a vacant textile plant; Maple Springs employs nearly 200 people at its headquarters in Hickory, North Carolina. "Maple Springs Laundry has called North Carolina home for 38 years, along with some of the most highly acclaimed healthcare systems in the country," says Chris Daughtry, the company's president. "And as an independent, family-owned business, we look forward to expanding our range of services offered to the healthcare industry of western North Carolina." The company will receive a $168,000 grant from the state, contingent on job creation, that must be matched by local governments.
