RV Manufacturer Expanding, Adding 100 Jobs in Indiana

12/03/2009
Riverside Travel Trailer Inc., a manufacturer of towable recreational vehicles, will invest more than $1.1 million to expand its operations in Peru, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. The company, which plans to create 100 new jobs over the next two years, will purchase new equipment and make upgrades to its 130,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The company anticipates doubling its current work force of 30 by the second quarter of next year. "The RV business is entering into a recovery phase, and it is here to stay," says Mark Gerber, Riverside's vice president of sales and finance. "Indiana is the heart of the RV industry and as such it is the place to be." The state has offered Riverside up to $265,000 in performance-based tax credits and $45,000 in training grants, contingent on job creation; the county will provide additional property tax abatement.
