SunEdison Selects Belmont, California, for HQ Relocation

SunEdison, a solar power company, is moving its headquarters from Maryland to Belmont, California, the San Francisco Business Times and San Mateo County Times report.

The company will move approximately 100 employees from its sites in Maryland and San Francisco to the new Belmont location. It expects to create up to 400 new jobs in the next few years.

California state tax incentives have assisted SunEdison in the $8 million renovation. The Belmont City Council will also waive $86,400 of the $106,400 permit fees the renovation requires.

SunEdison develops and maintains solar power plants.
