Avgol America Increases Investment in Mocksville, North Carolina, to $35M

02/15/2011
Avgol America, an Israeli maker of specialty fabrics, is expanding its operations in Mocksville, North Carolina, the Winston-Salem Journal reports. The company, which produces nonwoven fabrics for diaper manufacturers, will create 42 jobs.

"Our strategy is to continue to grow our business in our largest market here in the USA," said Ronnie Batchler, COO for Avgol Nonwoven Industries. "Our customers continue to challenge us for more unique and innovative products that are cost-effective. We have been able to meet those challenges over the past 10 years. This has hastened our growth in Mocksville."

Avgol is investing $35 million to add a fourth product line to the Mocksville operation, a steep increase from the $3 million it initially planned to invest.

The company could receive $84,000 from the One North Carolina Fund and another $640,000 in local incentives.
