Venus Group, Inc. Invests $2.5 Million On Fort Lawn, South Carolina, Manufacturing Plant
02/25/2015
“South Carolina is well known for quality textile manufacturing and its skilled workforce. We are very happy to be associated with this great state. Venus will provide the same excellent service on the East Coast that we have been providing on the West Coast for over 40 years by stocking fabric and core items and manufacturing special products,” Kirit Patel and Raj Patel, owners of Venus Group said.
Founded in 1972 and headquartered in California, Venus Group is segmented into three business units – Venus Institution, Venus Home and Venus Hospitality. The Venus Institution business unit caters mainly to linen rental companies, healthcare and other related industries and organizations, while the Venus Home business unit serves as the retail arm of the company, providing home accessories to its customers. The Venus Hospitality unit supplies hotel and property management companies as well as independent properties in the hospitality market. With manufacturing and distribution locations in the United States, India, China and Pakistan, Venus possesses a truly global footprint.
As part of its long-term growth initiative, Venus has partnered with Milliken, an innovation company based out of Spartanburg, South Carolina. With fabric technology and innovation as critical components of Venus’s operations, the close proximity between the two firms will allow for increased working efficiency on their collaborative efforts. Venus’ Chester County operation will be housed in an existing facility located at 5918 Lancaster Highway in Fort Lawn, South Carolina.
“We’re excited to welcome Venus Group to South Carolina and celebrate their decision to build a new manufacturing facility in Fort Lawn. Companies continue to ask South Carolinians to build their products because our workforce has proven to be up to the task, and the 25 new jobs Venus is creating in Chester County will make a real difference in the local community,” Governor Nikki Haley said.
"Venus Group is a nice addition to our manufacturing base in Chester County. This is another example of finding the right client for an existing building and creating additional job opportunities for the area,” added Chester Development Association Chairman Brian Singleton.
