New Steel Processor Chooses Indiana

02/05/2008
Indiana Steel and Tube, a processor of steel coil for the agriculture, automotive, and recreation markets, will invest $8 million to construct a new 80,000-square-foot manufacturing and processing facility in Brownstown, Indiana. The company will begin construction of the new facility in March and plans to begin hiring maintenance technicians, machine operators, and clerical staff before the company begins operations in the fourth quarter of this year. Overall, they plan to create more than 100 jobs over the next two years. Dill Whittymore, the company's president, says the facility will begin processing approximately 2,500 tons of steel coil initially, then add manufacturing operations in 2009.
