RBC Aerostructures Expands Westminster, South Carolina, Manufacturing Hub
04/12/2018
RBC Aerostructures is an international manufacturer and marketer of highly-engineered control rods, swaged tubes and precision-machined parts integral to the operation of fixed and rotary-winged aircraft systems. Its parent company, RBC Bearings Incorporated, has broadened its market reach with 36 manufacturing facilities in six countries.
“The opportunities to expand our business and create job growth have been many since moving to South Carolina in 2014. It’s an exciting time for RBC Aerostructures. We expect to triple our base business over the next five years and continue to be a contributor to the growth of the South Carolina economy,” RBC Aerostructures Director of Operations Stan Griffis said.
“South Carolina’s workforce continues to demonstrate unmatched excellence, especially in our growing aerospace sector; and, as a result, companies like RBC Aerostructures are strengthening their commitment to our state. I congratulate this innovative firm and look forward to watching them continue to thrive in South Carolina,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“The transformation of South Carolina’s economy over the last two decades has been truly remarkable. Our state has gone from making gray cloth to producing complex machine parts that are shipped all over the world. Today’s expansion announcement by RBC Aerostructures further strengthens South Carolina’s reputation as a place that not only makes things, but makes them well,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
“The success story of RBC Aerostructures continues to unfold in Oconee County, as they quickly went from locating their aerospace manufacturing operations here in 2012 to conducting this expansion. This is a testament to our strength as a manufacturing location,” noted Oconee County Council Chair Edda Cammick.
