British-based Synergy Health Establishes Global Headquarters In Tampa, Florida
04/22/2013
The firm is a global provider of specialist outsourced services to the healthcare market. These include: medical device sterilization, surgical instrument sterilization and the reprocessing of surgical products.
With over 1,000 new employees in the US and three fairly recent acquisitions, including Oldsmar, Florida-based SRI Surgical in 2012 for roughly $28 million dollars, founder Dr. Richard Steeves said; "I now spend about two-thirds of my time in the United States and the rest in the UK, China and Europe. We fell in love with Tampa Bay; it's an up and coming city and very similar to San Diego where we spent the past year with our team until finally deciding on Tampa as our new headquarters for the Americas. Even though I am a Canuck from Vancouver, I thoroughly enjoy The Tampa Bay Lightning being so close to my home in Tampa."
Synergy Health said it is focused on increasing market space with US-based hospitals with a reinforced focus on their central service departments. Synergy Health's goal is to help improve overall patient care and hospital instrument sterilization practices by bringing their experiences from Europe and Asia. Synergy Health has become known for setting strict standards in the UK hospitals for unparalleled sterilization quality assurance.
Hillsborough County Commission Chairman Ken Hagan said," We are pleased to see an international company acquire a local business like SRI, but even more importantly, we are thrilled to see Synergy Health relocate their San Diego corporate offices to Tampa. These are the type of companies we want in order to expand our international business presence and create jobs."
