04/25/2008
Coskata Inc., a developer of renewable energy products, will open a commercial demonstration plant to produce cellulosic ethanol in Madison, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. The $25 million project will be located at a gasification facility owned and operated by Westinghouse Plasma Corporation. More than 40,000 gallons of biofuel will be produced annually and should begin delivery in early 2009 using materials such as woody biomass and agricultural and industrial waste. The project is planned as a preview to the company's plans to construct a full-scale commercial plant by 2011.
