Lockheed Martin opened its new 56,000-square-foot Cyber Center of Excellence in the Fort Meade, Maryland area, which the firm said “has a seating capacity for 250 professionals.”

In addition to system labs and employee training rooms, the facility contains an Advanced Innovation Center. The center utilizes the breadth of Lockheed Martin's capabilities and investments so its teams can rapidly develop and provide solutions to customers' most critical mission needs. The company said the facility will further expand, integrate and connect employees, customers and industry partners as Lockheed Martin continues to grow and evolve its critical cyber security work.

"We're looking ahead – we know the importance of the cyber mission will continue to grow for our customers," said Tim Reardon, President of Lockheed Martin IS&GS National. "Lockheed Martin's talented workforce, cutting edge technology, and state-of-the-art facilities like this position us to meet the cyber challenges and needs of a diverse range of missions and customers."

Laura Neuman, Anne Arundel County Executive, said, "We appreciate Lockheed Martin's continued investment in our county. The opening of the Cyber Center of Excellence further solidifies Anne Arundel County's reputation as the nexus of cyber security development, giving more promise to high-tech job growth and business opportunities in the area."
