Area Development Online News Desk (04/05/2011)
Northrop Grumman will expand at North Dakota’s Grand Forks Air Force base, KFYR TV reports. The company will operate its high-tech, unmanned aircraft from the base. To support this work, Northrop Grumman will create 100 new jobs, 29 of which have already been filled.

"The Grand Forks Air Force base will be the first base in the United States that is the exclusive base for unmanned aerial systems. And that’s a very significant designation for Grand Forks," said Governor Jack Dalrymple.

The unmanned system, known as the Global Hawk, will arrive at the base next month.
