Watson Metal Masters Begins Construction On Republic, Missouri, Manufacturing Center
04/09/2014
Construction has begun on a new 63,000 square-foot building, as well as an additional 4,450 square-foot complex for corporate offices. The new facility nearly triples the company’s current capacity and will accommodate increased production by doubling the number of tanks and vessels the company can manufacture each month. The company’s new campus will accommodate its 47 existing employees, who are being relocated to Republic, as well as 77 new employees.
“We have outgrown our current location, and we’re at 130 percent capacity with over six months backlog,” said Bill Schahuber, President/Owner of Watson Metal Masters. “Our new facility will allow us to meet our demand and better serve our rapidly growing client base.”
To assist Watson Metal Masters with its expansion, the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the City of Republic offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
“Here in Missouri, we make products the world wants to buy,” Governor Jay Nixon said. “That’s why we’ve worked to foster a business-friendly climate where manufacturers of all sizes can invest and grow. When homegrown manufacturers like Watson Metal Masters continue to prosper in the Show-Me state, it’s clear that our low energy costs, highly-skilled workforce, and strong infrastructure help us compete and win on a national level.”
