VIAM Manufacturing Invests $9 Million To Expand Its Manchester, Tennessee, Production Facility

05/01/2013
VIAM Manufacturing will invest $9 million to expand its facility on Park Tower Drive in Manchester, Tennessee, creating 75 new jobs. The expansion will bring VIAM’s operating space to 507,000 square-feet at its Coffee County facility.

VIAM has been supplying the automotive industry with high quality, custom design floor, trunk and cargo mats since its incorporation in 1983. VIAM opened its first Tennessee facility in Manchester in 1998, expanding and officially moving its North American Headquarters there in 2008. VIAM currently employs 487 people.

“VIAM’s growth can be attributed to our customer’s confidence in our ability to deliver a high quality product. Our Associates have demonstrated time and time again their commitment to the success of VIAM,” VIAM Chief Operating Officer Keith Hayes said. “We would like to thank our Parent company (Japan Vilene Co.) for the confidence they have placed in us, the local representatives of Coffee County and Manchester for their support through the years and last, but certainly not least, the State of Tennessee and the ECD department for all their support.”

“Tennessee is a national leader in automotive manufacturing, and VIAM’s expansion is a testament to our strengths in this key industry,” said Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty. “I appreciate VIAM’s continued investment in and recognition of Tennessee’s solid manufacturing base and quality workforce.”

“VIAM has demonstrated a partnership with the county through several expansions,” Coffee County Mayor David Pennington said. “Companies like VIAM expanding locally foster the majority of our community’s growth. We appreciate what VIAM has done for us.”

“We are very fortunate to have the VIAM and VICAM operations located in Coffee County. These Japan Vilene subsidiaries have consistently grown and provided high quality jobs to our citizens since their selection of the Coffee County Interstate Park as their initial site in 1998,” Bill Comer, Coffee County Industrial Board said. “It has been my pleasure to work with COO Keith Hayes throughout this period. He and his company have always been open and sincere in discussions related to their many expansions and have always demonstrated a commitment to community support.”
