Kimble’s Aviation Logistical Services Relocates Headquarters to Flagler County, Florida Airport
05/14/2018
The Flagler Executive Airport is a county-owned, public use, general aviation airport, operated and maintained by Flagler County Board of County Commissioners. While there are no scheduled airlines providing service at the airport, it primarily serves corporate aviation and other general uses. The airfield has two 5,000-foot runways and a 3,000-foot water runway. According to county officials, it is the busiest general aviation airport with a contract Air Traffic Control Tower in the state of Florida.
County commissioners unanimously approved a 3-year lease that can be renewed twice and will be adjusted annually in accordance with the Consumer Price Index. The lease includes a 4,200-square-foot hangar at 17 Old Moody Blvd., near the northern border of the Flagler Executive Airport that was formerly used by the county's FireFlight helicopter. The helicopter service relocated closer to airport runways. At a cost of $2,500 per month, the lease also includes use of 7,000 square feet of tarmac space to store refueling trucks and fueling equipment and 10,200 square feet of undeveloped land.
As an incentive the county awarded a $40,000 grant for the promise of creating 40 jobs during the next seven years. The company told county officials it plans to make a capital investment of about $1.5 million.
