Metal Fabrication Company Expanding in South Carolina
Area Development Online News Desk (05/20/2009)
Center Manufacturing SC, a maker of fabricated metal parts, will invest $2.4 million to expand its facilities in Greenwood, South Carolina, according to state commerce officials. The company plans to create at least 65 new jobs with the expansion. "We are pleased to move forward with our expansion plans in Greenwood," says Robert Jackson, the company's president and CEO. "South Carolina provides a strategic position to expand further in the commercial vehicle, all-terrain, construction, and agricultural markets. The state has provided us with a positive business environment and the skilled labor force we need to meet our customer demands." Center Manufacturing currently employs 100 workers. The Michigan-headquartered company plans to move an existing production line, equipment, and operations to the Greenwood facility and to install additional production equipment next year. Commerce officials did not release information about financial incentives offered to Center Manufacturing.
