GCP Applied Technologies Expands Mount Pleasant, Tennessee Production Plant

05/23/2017
GCP Applied Technologies will expand its manufacturing operations, adding a new product line at its manufacturing center in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Located 58.8 miles southwest of Nashville, the city is referred to as “the phosphate capital of the world."

The global construction materials manufacturer expects to invest $11 million and create 29 new jobs in Maury County.

"GCP is pleased to partner with TNECD and Maury County in the expansion of our manufacturing facility,” GCP President & CEO Gregory E. Poling said. “Mount Pleasant has been an outstanding location, and we look forward to continued success in the community for years to come.”

“I want to thank GCP for its decision to expand its operations in Mount Pleasant and for creating 29 new jobs in Maury County,” Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “In Tennessee, there have been over 45,000 net new manufacturing jobs since 2010, and it means a great deal that GCP will be adding more jobs to this growing sector and our strong workforce.”

“To have an existing industry leader such as GCP choose to further its investment in Maury County and our community speaks volumes to what the area has to offer in terms of location, workforce and infrastructure,” Wil Evans, President of Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance, said. “We are thankful to our local and regional economic development partners that played a large role in this project.”
