Expanded Menasha. WI, Facility Creates 100 Jobs

05/24/2011
Recently consumer products titan Kimberly-Clark Corp. (K-C) finished a $9 million, 129,150-sq.-ft warehouse and production expansion at its Cold Spring manufacturing plant in Menasha, Wisconsin. As a direct result, 100 new employees were added to the facility's workforce, which now numbers 500 people.

The Depend brand of adult diapers is just one of the multiple products made here.

K-C's investment in the site reversed a trend for the company, reported The Post-Cresecent. "As part of a three-year global restructuring plan announced in 2005, the company reduced its global workforce of 57,000 at that time by 6,000 workers, or about 10.5 percent," noted the local newspaper. "In 2006, various layoffs in K-C's Fox Cities operations resulted in about 1,000 job cuts. With the Cold Spring expansion, the company today employs about 3,300 people in the Fox Cities."

Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark makes numerous well-known consumer product brands such as Kleenex, Scott, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Kotex, Poise and Depend. It employs 56,000 workers worldwide; about 3,300 of them work in the Fox Cities region. In 2010 the company posted $19.7 billion in sales.
