Central Packaging and Crating, Inc. Expands Its Greenwood, South Carolina, Manufacturing Plant

05/26/2016
Central Packaging and Crating, Inc., a manufacturer of wooden heat-treated pallets, is expanding its operations at 102 Joe Bernat Drive in Greenwood County, South Carolina. The expansion will result in a new capital investment of almost $1 million.

Launched in 1998, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce, Central Packaging and Crating is one of the largest wooden pallet manufacturers in South Carolina by volume. In an effort to meet increased customer demand, the company is investing in new in-house machinery at its Greenwood County facility such as upgraded automated nailers and gang saws. Once installed, the facility will be capable of producing up to 250 pallets per hour and almost 3,000 pallets per day.

“Our business has experienced tremendous growth and we look forward to supporting the Greenwood community for years to come,” said Central Packaging and Crating President Kevin Neuman.

“Companies in every industry are recognizing that South Carolina is the perfect place to be doing business, and Central Packaging and Crating’s decision to invest almost $1 million in their Greenwood facility is further evidence of that. We couldn’t be more excited to congratulate this great company for the success it has found here, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in the years to come,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
