Axia Technology Partners Invests $2.8 Million On Expansion In Indianapolis and Columbus, Indiana

Axia Technology Partners, a communications technology company, plans to invest $2.8 million to expand its Indianapolis headquarters and establish a new data center in Columbus, Indiana, creating up to 45 new jobs by 2017.

The firm will lease an additional 2,500 square feet to expand its existing downtown Indianapolis headquarters, adding up to 34 new jobs. Facility renovations are expected to begin in June, with the installation of new network infrastructure, security and managed services protocols to be completed by September.

In addition, AxiaTP will lease and equip new data center space at the 86,000 square-foot Data Cave facility in Columbus, Indiana, creating up to 11 new jobs. Additional equipment installation and server setup of new network infrastructure will begin this summer, with the site scheduled to be operational by the end of July.

AxiaTP has already begun hiring additional network engineers, technical support, marketing and sales associates and software developers to serve both the Indianapolis and Columbus locations.

Both the state of Indiana, the city of Indianapolis and the city of Columbus showed us a great deal of support that aided greatly in our decision and we are very appreciative.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Axia Technology Partners, LLC up to $425,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $30,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. In addition, the cities of Columbus and Indianapolis support this project at the request of the Columbus Economic Development Board and Develop Indy, a business unit of the Indy Chamber.

“Indy’s digital technology sector is continuing to flourish,” said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. “With AxiaTP’s recent relocation to downtown Indianapolis and now announcing additional growth, it shows that Indy is a city that encourages and supports business in a way that allows them to thrive.”

Columbus Mayor Kristen Brown said, “A diversified economy is a top priority for our community. We welcome and are grateful for these new jobs in the technology sector created by this partnership.”
