Multiple Projects to Create 660+ Jobs in Indiana

06/01/2009
Three investment projects in Indiana will create more than 660 new jobs, according to state economic development officials. Alorica, a customer service management company, will locate an inbound customer support center in Lafayette, at an existing 49,900-square-foot former indoor go-kart track. The California-headquartered company will create more than 600 new jobs with the project. "This is our second site in Indiana in less than 12 months, which speaks volumes about our feelings about this great state," says Andy Lee, Alorica's CEO. In Franklin, Premium Composite Technology North America (PCTNA), a manufacturer of plastic resin, will locate its first U.S. operations in a new 64,000-square-foot facility it will construct beginning this summer. PCTNA is a joint venture of Toyota Tsusho and Sanyo Kako of Japan and Toyota Tsusho America. "PCTNA is pleased to work with the people of the state of Indiana," says Kazushi Takahashi, PCTNA's president. "PCTNA would like to have close communications with, and contribute to, continued good relations and grow together." The state has offered PCTNA up to $550,000 in performance-based tax credits and $162,500 in training grants contingent on job creation; the city has granted real and personal property tax abatement. In New Albany, L&D Mail Masters, a designer and distributor of direct mail products, will invest $1.2 million to expand its existing operations; 24 new jobs are planned, along with advanced training opportunities for the company's existing 85 employees. The state has provided L&D with a $62,000 training grant.
