Caterpillar Invests $700M in Illinois and India

06/18/2010
Caterpillar plans to spend nearly $700 million over the next four years to build mining shovels and expand truck production at its facilities in Aurora, Illinois; Decatur, Illinois; and Chennai, India. The expansion will create approximately 300 jobs in Aurora by 2014.

Aurora will receive a new mining shovel manufacturing line, and Decatur and Chennai will see plant and truck production expansions.

Jobs will also be added at the Decatur and Chennai facilities, but Caterpillar spokesperson Jim Dugan said the company has not yet determined how many positions will be created.
