NCR Relocating Corporate Headquarters to Georgia

06/02/2009
NCR Corporation will invest $30 million to relocate its corporate headquarters to Duluth, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, according to the state economic development officials. At the same time, the company will establish a manufacturing facility in Columbus, Georgia. The two combined projects are expected to create more than 2,000 jobs. NCR, which manufactures ATMs and retail checkout scanners, is currently headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. The Associated Press (AP) reports that the company will offer some of the Ohio workers relocation to the new headquarters and will maintain an operation in Dayton that will include a data center and local customer support. "The decision to consolidate functions in Georgia and build a technology-focused corporate headquarters campus is right in line with our business strategy to drive growth, improve our innovation output, increase productivity, and continually upgrade our focus on the customer," says Bill Nuti, NCR's chair and CEO. "NCR is already benefitting from Georgia's pro-business environment through our existing operations." AP says the company plans to begin the move next month and will be completely headquartered in Georgia by the end of 2010. No specific information was released regarding financial incentives offered to NCR, but state officials say the company will be eligible for the state's Mega Jobs Tax Credit.
