Area Development Online News Desk (06/25/2009)
Presidium, Inc., a provider of information technology and service desk solutions to educational institutions, will invest $8.3 million to expand its facilities in Somerset, Kentucky, according to the Kentucky governor's office. The company plans to create 200 new jobs with the expansion; the Lexington Herald-Leader reports that the salary range for the positions will be $8 to $35 per hour, with an average of $10.88 per hour. Presidium's Somerset facility serves primarily as a call center and help desk for student users. The company plans to expand its existing facility by 10,000 square feet and lease an additional 26,000-foot-facility. "We have been overwhelmed with our rapid success in Kentucky, and are truly delighted to be expanding our campus in Somerset to the benefit of our current and future employees, as well as our client base," says Greg Davies, Presidium's CEO. The state has preliminarily approved tax benefits of up to $4,185,000 for the company.
