American Plastic Molding to Create 50 Jobs in Scottsburg, Indiana

06/25/2010
American Plastic Molding, which produces plastic injection molded assemblies, plans to create 50 jobs in Scottsburg, Indiana by 2013. It will invest more than $1.5 million to lease and equip another space near its facility for new product lines.

Production on a sinus clearing product has begun, and manufacture of auto speaker parts will start in July.

"Both of the newest customers indicated that our prices were slightly higher than from China and Mexico. However, they know that the delivery, quality and consistency are better from American Plastic. Many of the new projects had been produced in Mexico," said Floyd Coates, president of American Plastic Molding Corporation.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has extended American Plastic Molding up to $300,000 in tax credits based on the company's projected job creation. Scottsburg will offer additional property tax abatement through the Scott County Economic Development Corporation.

The company will hire employees as its new space becomes available.
