Container Maintenance Corporation Expands in Dillon County, South Carolina
06/28/2018
Providing container and chassis maintenance for a variety of regional clients, Container Maintenance Corporation offers repair, upkeep and depot services, as well as storage and redistribution of intermodal equipment. The company’s new Dillon County facility complements its existing Charleston County facility, which supports the Port of Charleston. The new operations are projected to come online in the third quarter of 2018.
As an incentive, Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $50,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to assist with the costs of site preparation and building construction.
“We are excited to be part of the Dillon community and are proud that we can continue to support the Port of Charleston through its inland port network,” said Container Maintenance Corporation General Manager of Marine Repair Services David M. Miller Jr.
“South Carolina boasts one of the best port networks in the world, and the addition of Container Maintenance Corporation in Dillon County is proof of that. I congratulate this great company on their latest investment and look forward to seeing the difference these new jobs will make in the community,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
“Our state has made a name for itself in the world of logistics, due in large part to our ability to efficiently transport products and goods across the globe. The addition of Container Maintenance Corporation’s facility in Dillon County will ensure that we continue to excel in this area,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
“We welcome and are very pleased to receive Container Maintenance Corporation. This announcement is a direct result of the inland port and represents a positive return on the investment our county made in the port. We look forward to a long, fruitful relationship with our newest industry family member,” Dillon County Council Chairman Stevie Grice explained.
“S.C. Ports Authority has a strong partnership with Container Maintenance Corporation, which has provided a variety of important services for our container business in Charleston for many years. We congratulate them on establishing operations in the Dillon area and value the expansion of their footprint to serve our newest facility, Inland Port Dillon. The Port looks forward to many similar announcements of new maritime-related jobs and economic development in the Dillon region in the future,” S.C. Ports Authority President & CEO Jim Newsome said.
