Baldor Electric, a manufacturer of industrial electric motors and mechanical power transmission products, will invest at least $4.8 million to expand its operations in Weaverville, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company plans to add 32 new jobs at an average annual salary of $42,209. "We are proud to be part of the Weaverville community, and we look forward to many more years together," says Bill Ramsbey, Baldor's vice president of operations. Arkansas-headquartered Baldor operates 26 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada, England, Mexico, and China; the company is consolidating an Indiana operation and moving it to the Weaverville plant. The state has provided Baldor Electric with a $64,000 grant, contingent on job creation; the funds will be matched by local governments.
