Pilot Chemical Adds Liquid Minerals Group To Its Roster

07/13/2016
Pilot Chemical Company, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, reported it purchased Liquid Minerals Group, Inc. located in New Waverly, Texas. LMGI will retain its name under Pilot’s leadership.

According to company officials, “the acquisition expands Pilot's business into the organometallic fuel additives markets, as well as provides further growth opportunities for Pilot’s existing surfactants and antimicrobial businesses. LMGI manufactures products for the oil field, refinery, power generation and marine industries and serves customers worldwide.” “The acquisition of LMGI greatly enhances the opportunities for growth and allows for further expansion into new technologies and manufacturing capabilities,” said Mike Scott, President of Pilot Chemical.

"We are extremely pleased to become part of a highly regarded organization like Pilot, with which we have had a long and positive history," said Mark Hughes, CEO of LMGI. “Joining Pilot will lead to future innovation,” added Daniel Smith, President of LMGI.

Pilot Chemical Company is a privately owned and independent global specialty chemical company providing high quality products and services to the household and industrial detergent, personal care, lubricant, oilfield, emulsion polymerization, disinfecting and sanitizing industries.

Liquid Minerals Group, Inc. manufactures oil soluble organometallic additives. LMGI is the largest manufacturer of high concentration oil soluble magnesium fuel additives in the industry with more than 50 years of experience in oil soluble magnesium additive products.

The LMGI team has worldwide experience at power plants and refineries with countless gas turbines, boilers and diesel engines, officials said. With a focus on finding unique solutions to common problems and a motivation of providing value to its customer and intensive research and development, product lines are being extended beyond magnesium and reach into many diverse markets. Key markets served include oil field, refinery, power generation and marine.
