Ohio Economy Gets Power Boost from Fuel Cell Producer

UltraCell Corporation, a manufacturer of reformed methanol fuel cells (RMFCs) for mobile power applications, has selected a new production facility in Dayton, Ohio, located at the Dayton International Airport. The company has initially committed to 20,000 square feet in a 100,000-square-foot building for its plant, which will produce fuel processors and fuel stack assemblies. Company officials anticipate hundreds of manufacturing jobs in the coming years, and plan to expand the facility as business develops. "Ohio is one of only a few places in the world where all phases of fuel cell development take place," says James Kaschmitter, UltraCell CEO and president. "We're honored ot be able to extend our production into such a thriving area for growth in our industry." According to FuelCellWorks.com, UltraCell was granted more than $5 million in grants and tax incentives by the state and local economic development agencies.
