Call Center Operator Expanding in Arizona

07/02/2008
Advance Call Center Technologies LLC, a provider of technical and customer service support for banks and telecommunications companies, will open a new call center in Douglas, Arizona, adjacent to the Mexican border. The company will take over a 55,000-square-foot empty facility that will be refurbished and ready for operations by the end of the year. More than 700 new jobs are planned in the next few years, which will make the company the area's largest private employer. Initially, 80 new jobs ranging in salary from $8 to $22 per hour will be hired within the next month, and the Pennsylvania-based company will begin operations in temporary quarters until the new facility is ready. "Douglas has a good labor force and bilingual workers," says Joe Lembo, president and CEO of Advance Call Center Technologies, quoted in the Arizona Star. "We are very excited. Douglas really needs the jobs, and we need a labor force that is willing." The company will receive a $275,000 grant from the state for widening and reconstruction of a six-road intersection near the new facility.
