Zekelman Industries Opens Troy, Michigan, Hub for its Z Modular Subsidiary
07/20/2018
Zekelman Industries includes the operating divisions of Atlas Tube, Picoma, Sharon Tube, Wheatland Tube, Western Tube and Z Modular. It is the largest independent manufacturer of hollow structural sections and steel pipe, and the top producer of electrical conduit and elbows, couplings and nipples in North America. The company said its Z Modular subsidiary is a one-stop shop for modular buildings and services that utilizes a self-bracing structural system and allows for more factory completion than other modular construction systems.
"With multiple projects in our pipeline, and new opportunities in the Midwest, I'm excited to open this office in the Detroit metro area," said Michael Bell, Director of Engineering for Z Modular, who will lead the team at the new office. According to company officials, when completed, the office will be an open, collaborative space for the engineering, estimating, and sales teams to work on a full-time basis. The team is currently spread out at multiple smaller locations throughout the state of Michigan.
"This new space will help to increase our operational efficiencies and design collaboration going forward," said Rich Rozycki, Senior Vice President of Z Modular.
The group will be engineering and designing steel-framed modular construction solutions for projects across North America.
