IT Company Expanding Manufacturing in Texas

07/28/2008
Fujitsu Network Communications, a supplier of optical and wireless networking solutions, will expand manufacturing capacity at its headquarters in Richardson, Texas. The company will shift manufacturing of key optical and electronic components from Europe and Japan to the United States, creating 67 new professional and production jobs. "In an environment where a majority of customer orders require delivery in under a week, and often within 24 hours, our manufacturing facility in Richardson is critical to our competitive advantage," says Hans Roehrig, the company's senior vice president of operations and manufacturing. "By optimizing our in-sourced supply chain and implementing highly regarded manufacturing philosophies, we are able to respond faster to rapidly changing customer requirements." Financial information about the expansion has not been detailed by the company.
